Marines assigned to the Force Reconnaissance Platoon of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit fast rope from a CH-46E Sea Knight helicopter for a vessel board, search and seizure drill aboard the USS Germantown (LSD 42). The 31st MEU is currently preparing for certification exercises. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and remains the nation’s force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
