Marines with Alpha Company, Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, remove debris during a volunteer event sponsored by the Single Marine Program at Kanna Beach, Okinawa, Japan, April 24, 2019. During the SMP’s Days of Service week, BLT 1/4 Marines helped give back to the local community during outreach events across Okinawa. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
