USS BONHOMME RICHARD, Yellow Sea – Marines with Force Reconnaissance Platoon, Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), rappel from an MH-60S helicopter with Amphibious Squadron 11 (PHIBRON) during a fast-rope exercise on the flight deck of the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) here, April 13. The helicopters hovered over the ship while the Marines quickly descended to simulate a visit, board, search and seizure insertion. The 31st MEU/ PHIBRON-11 team recently participated in Exercise Ssang Yong 14 in the Republic of Korea and is currently conducting theater security cooperation operations in the Asia-Pacific region.
