Sailors with the deck department of the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) remove the chains and chalks from an MV-22 Osprey with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, prior to liftoff, Mar. 20. Continual flight-line operations aboard the USS BHR are in support of the 31st MEU’s Certification Exercise, during which members of Special Operations Training Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, evaluate the MEU as it conducts its mission essential tasks in a variety of scenarios. The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps’ force of choice for the Asia-Pacific region and is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU.
