Marines with the Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, engage silhouette targets from the 15-meter line with M45A1 Close Quarter Battle Pistols during the pistol qualification portion of the Urban Sniper Course here, Oct. 21. The USC is a three-week course taught by Special Operations Training Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, designed to improve the Marines’ scout sniper skills in urban environments. The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region and is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU.
