Lance Cpl. Jonathan D. Lopez, a 21-year-old avionics technician with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., conducts routine maintenance on the communications component of an AH-1W Super Cobra helicopter here, Sept. 12. A section of VMM-265 (REIN) helicopters are embarked aboard the USS Denver (LPD 9) during the 31st MEU’s regularly-scheduled Fall Patrol of the Asia-Pacific region. The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness for the Asia-Pacific region and is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU.
