Two CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, sit on the flight deck during night operations here, Aug. 23. The Super Stallion is a heavy-lift helicopter designed to transport assault forces, heavy equipment and supplies. VMM-265 (Rein) is currently deployed as the Air Combat Element of the 31st MEU on a regularly scheduled patrol of the Asia-Pacific region. The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region and is the only continuously forward deployed MEU.
