Lance Cpl. Gregg J. Schefer, a landing support specialist with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and a native of St. Louis, Mo., holds the timer for a 5 kilometer Fun Run here, July 7. The Navy and Marine participants ran laps around the flight deck to reach their goal of 1.5 or 3 miles in the fastest time. Once all of the runners were finished, the fastest members of each category, determined by age and gender, were given medals. The 31st MEU is the only continuously deployed MEU and is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
