A reconnaissance Marine with the Force Reconnaissance Platoon of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit checks behind him for additional targets during a live-fire, small arms shoot on the flight deck here, June 28. The 31st MEU’s FRP trains to provide a number of capabilities to the unit, including: long distance raids; visit, board, search and seizure operations; and high altitude, low opening parachute insertions. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
