Lieutenant Gen. Kenneth J. Glueck Jr., commanding general of III Marine Expeditionary Force, speaks with Marines and Sailors of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and other various units based on Camp Hansen, May 7. Glueck, along with Sgt. Maj. Steven Morefield and Master Chief Petty Officer Leon Vorters Jr., sergeant major and command master chief for III MEF, addressed the crowd on the “fight tonight” readiness concept for immediate deployment of response units, force preservation within the ranks and the reconstitution of III MEF assets for future operations and exercises. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
