Staff Sgt. Willibald Marrero, the training chief of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and native of New York City, N.Y., and Lance Cpl. Marcus Bungard, a radio operator also with the 31st MEU, conduct martial arts sustainment training in the gym while deployed at sea here, March 6. The Marines of the 31st MEU are currently preparing to conduct the MEUs Certification Exercise. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and remains the nation’s force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
