Marines and Sailors of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and Amphibious Squadron 11 watch the sunset aboard the USS Essex (LHD-2) after daily flight operations are completed at sea, March 4. The 31st MEU is conducting amphibious integration training with PHIBRON 11 in preparation for their upcoming Certification Exercise. The 31st MEU is the only continually forward-deployed MEU and is the nation’s force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
