Lance Cpl. Estefania Latino, a Field Wireman with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, prepares to be flipped upside down in a shallow water egress training chair here, Dec. 20. The training simulates what it would be like to escape from a crashed helicopter that is fully submerged. The 31st MEU remains the United States’ force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region, and is the only continually forward-deployed MEU.
