Marines with Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines (BLT 2/7), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), walk along the flight deck of the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) to a CH-46E Sea Knight helicopter in preparation to execute fast rope operations, Feb. 28. The MEU is currently underway to the Republic of the Philippines in support of Exercise Balikatan 2010 (BK ’10).
