Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit pose for a photo on top of Mt. Suribachi during a visit to Iwo Jima, May 29. Service members worldwide, who have visited the memorial site, have left their dog tags and name tapes in honor of those who fought there. Nearly 30,000 U.S. and Japanese service members lost their lives during the battle 65 years ago. (Official Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Matthew A. Denny)
