Cpl. Andrea Mariani, a military working dog handler with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, holds onto Sjonnie, a military working dog aboard the USS Green Bay (LPD 20), Pacific Ocean, April 4, 2017. Dog handlers and their military working dogs conducted a capabilities demonstration for the Marines and sailors of the Green Bay. As the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed unit, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit's air-ground-logistics team provides a flexible force, ready to perform a wide range of military operations, from limited combat to humanitarian assistance operations, throughout the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
