USS DENVER, At Sea – Marines and Sailors of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit hold an accountability formation on the deck here, Feb. 28, prior to a welcome aboard brief from their Navy counterparts. The 31st MEU recently embarked on three ships of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group to begin their regularly scheduled Spring Patrol. Currently embarked on the USS Denver are elements of the 31st MEU’s Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, as well as small detachments of the Command Element, Combat Logistics Battalion 31, and Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced). The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness for the Asia-Pacific region and the only continuously forward-deployed MEU. (Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Paul Robbins Jr.)
