USS BONHOMME RICHARD, At Sea – Staff Sgt. Edgardo E. Del Valle, mess chief for the Command Element, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and a native of Miami, Fla., works alongside other Marines of the 31st MEU and the ship’s crew to move boxes of food during a re-supply at sea here, Aug. 26. The Blue/Green team uses a line of more than 100 troops to pass thousands of pounds of food and other perishable materials to storage areas throughout the ship. The 31st MEU is currently embarked aboard the ships of the BHR Amphibious Ready Group in support of the regularly scheduled Fall Patrol. The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region and is the only continuously forward deployed MEU.
