Marines and Sailors with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and Amphibious Squadron 11 “man the rails” of the ship while pulling into port in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia here, Aug. 16. The 31st MEU and PHIBRON 11 recently participated in exercise Talisman Saber 2013, a biennial event designed to provide the realistic and relevant training necessary to maintain security, peace and stability in the Asia Pacific region. The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific and the only continuously forward deployed MEU.
