Australian Army Captain Robert J. Spiller, a logistics officer with the Army Personnel Administration Center in South Queensland, Australia, and a native of Brisbane, passes a sack of flour to a Marine of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit during a replenishment at sea here, Aug. 13. Approximately 20 service members from the Australian Defense Force are aboard the BHR to observe how the 31st MEU conducts its amphibious operations and bring back lessons learned to their respective units. The 31st MEU is the only continually forward-deployed MEU and is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
