Corporal Alan B. Rubio, a heavy equipment mechanic with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and native of Bakersfield, Calif., demonstrates a figure-four blood choke during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program class here, July 1. While embarked with the ships of Amphibious Squadron 11, the Marines and Sailors of the 31st MEU utilize their time underway to maintain and advance their training. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
