Colonel John E. Merna, commanding officer of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (Left); Sgt. Maj. Gonzalo "Butch" Vasquez, sergeant major of the 31st MEU (center); and Lt. Col. G. T. Roesti, executive officer of the 31st MEU (right), cross the finish line of the 10K mud run here, March 30. Hundreds of competitors from all over the island gathered to participate in the run, which was put together by Marine Corps Community Services and the Single Marine Program. The run included obstacles that required runners to wade through shin-deep water, scale a five foot wall, and traverse thick patches of mud.
