Marines and Sailors with Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, move up a small hill during a 10-mile night hike here, Dec. 28. The hike was part of the battalion's continued commitment to maintaining readiness. "We wouldn't be much of a ground combat element or infantry battalion without the ability to move on our feet," said Lt. Col. Terry M. Johnson, commanding officer of BLT 1/5, 31st MEU, "We trained for a year to get here, now we need to stay sharp and set the standard."
