Balikatan, (shoulder-to-shoulder in English) is the last training evolution 1/4 will take part in before detaching from the 31st MEU and returning to their home garrison on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and remains the nation’s::r::::n::force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
