AV-8B Harrier vertical take-off and landing jets with Marine Attack Squadron 311, from Yuma, Ariz., fly over Wake Island as they make their trans-pacific crossing on the way to join the Air Combat Element of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and remains the nation’s force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
