Cpl Garrett M. Greer (left), a Force Reconnaissance Marine assigned to Force Reconnaissance Platoon, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit executes baton techniques on a Military Policeman (right) during an Oleoresin Capsicum Level 1 training course aboard the USS Essex (LHD 2), Oct 18. The training allows Marines to execute baton techniques and arm manipulation takedowns correctly while in a highly stressful situation. The 31st MEU is the only continually forward-deployed MEU, and remains the nation’s force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
