A member of the Kin Town community presents a Certificate of Appreciation to members of 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, Aug 23. Volunteers spent more than two hours cleaning up the area as part of a community relations project in conjunction with local Okinawan leaders. Community members also provided food and drinks for the volunteers. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit is the only continually forward-deployed MEU, and remains the United States’ force-in-readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
