Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. James F. Amos speaks to the Marines of Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 265 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, June 14, recognizing what the squadron accomplished during Operation Tomodachi. The Marines of HMM-265 (REIN) briefed Amos on everything from the types of supplies delivered to the amount of hours flown in support of those in need of assistance after the March 11 disaster. The squadron recently attached to the 31st MEU as the incoming air combat element, and will be providing support throughout future deployments. The 31st MEU is the only continually forward-deployed MEU, and remains the nation’s force-in-readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
