Petty Officer 3rd Class Zhong H.Yuan with Amphibious Squadron 11, along with a Marine of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, talks to a local Japanese fireman to assess damages during a beach landing survey here, March 21. Yuan served as a translator during the survey. The 31st MEU and PHIBRON-11 are prepared to provide aid in potential humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions in support of Operation Tomodachi. The 31st MEU is ready to support its Japanese partners and to provide assistance when called upon.
