A Marine assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit waits for the last of 15 amphibious assault vehicles to enter the welldeck of the forward-deployed amphibious transport dock USS Denver (LPD 9). Denver is part of the forward-deployed Essex Amphibious Ready Group and is conducting a spring patrol of the Asia Pacific region with embarked Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
