CG 2012 demonstrates the resolve of the U.S. and participating nations to increase interoperability and promote security and peace throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The USS Germantown contains all elements of a Marine Air Ground Task Force, including Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, Combat Logistics Battalion 31 and the MEUs Air Combat Element, en route to participate in the multilateral exercise Cobra Gold 2012.
