Lt. John M. Tinjum, a medical officer assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU), inspects the injuries of a Philippine national at an airfield in northern Luzon. Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron (HMM-262) helicopters were used to insert members of a Forward Command Element (FCE) of the 31st MEU to assist the government of the Republic of the Philippines in assessing the damage caused by typhoon Juan.
