Seaman Frank Olivas, corpsman with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and native of Monrovia, Calif., is tied onto a modified stretcher made out of a coconut leaf by other Sailors during a bilateral combat livesaver class here, Oct. 12. The purpose of the day was for the participants to gain new techniques from each other as well as refresh on what previous knowledge they already had. The class was in support of the 31st MEU's Amphibious Landing Exercise, an an annually-scheduled exercise between the U.S. and Philippine forces, aimed at strengthening military-to-military interoperability and bilateral relationships.
