Joshua F. Battin is an adventurer. Hailing from San Jose, California, the lance corporal joined the Marine Corps as a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense specialist in 2017. In the Marine Corps, Battin has gone beyond the call of duty and set himself apart from his peers, by volunteering for assignments and searching for every opportunity to better himself as a Marine. His drive has earned him the responsibility of a CBRN decontamination team leader with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit – the Marine Corps’ premier crisis-response force in the Indo-Pacific region. While traveling with the 31st MEU, Battin has expanded his knowledge of cultures and places not familiar to him, always looking for the next adventure. Before the Marines, Battin graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 2012. (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Lance Cpl. Brennan M. Priest/Released)
