Two MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, take off during a flight demonstration in Sasebo, Nagasaki, Japan, Sept. 1, 2016. Marines from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Reinforced) and CLB-31, 31st MEU joined members of the Japanese Ground and Maritime Self-Defense Forces and Nagasaki prefectural emergency workers in disaster relief drills and demonstrations for the Sasebo community. The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed Marine Air-Ground Task Force, and is task-organized to address a range of military operations in the Asia-Pacific region, from force projection and maritime security to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
