An MV-22 Osprey with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, returns to the ship after carrying Marines of Company E., Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 31st MEU, during a drill to mobilize a company-sized reaction force here, Aug. 22. To remain ready to reinforce any of the myriad contingencies the 31st MEU could face in the Asia-Pacific region, the unit trains to deploy reaction forces ranging in size from a squad to a company. The 31st MEU is the Marine Corps’ force in readiness for the Asia-Pacific region and the only continuously forward-deployed MEU.
