A U.S. Navy landing craft, air cushioned, carrying vehicles and M777 howitzers of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is positioned in the well deck of the forward-deployed USS Denver (LPD 9) at sea, Feb. 28. The 31st MEU is the nation’s only continually forward-deployed MEU, and remains a force-in-readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
