A Marine with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, leads a patrol through the dense vegitation of Thailand during exercise Cobra Gold 2011, Feb. 15. The bilateral patrol exercise was conducted to familiarize Marines with patrolling in a jungle environment. Thailand is one of the United States’ five major allies in the region, and that partnership has helped keep this region secure and stable.
