A member of the Japanese Self-Defense Force stands guard in front of Japanese civilians being evacuated during a multi-lateral non-combatant evacuation operation exercise, Feb 12. The NEO exercise, held during Cobra Gold 2011, brought together the U.S., Thai, and Japanese armed forces in order to exchange ideas and prepare for potential evacuations involving their citizens in foreign countries.
